Fins in the SunSECTION 1 – WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?

When you buy something from us, book a course or send us an enquiry, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address, freediver level and email address.

When you browse our website, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.

Email: When we have your details, as you’ve shown an interest in us, we may send you occasional emails about our courses, freediving activities and other updates. You can easily unsubscribe from these at any time and we don’t send many.

SECTION 2 – CONSENT

How do you get my consent?

When you provide us with personal information to buy something, book a course, ask us a question or sign up for the newsletter, or otherwise get in touch, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it to send you information occasionally. This is called a “soft opt in” and is OK with UK Marketing Law.

How do I withdraw my consent?

SECTION 3 – DISCLOSURE

We may disclose your personal information but only if we are required by law to do so. We do not share it with anyone else without your permission, for example if you want us to refer you to another instructor to finish your course.

SECTION 4 – OUR ONLINE SHOP

Our store is hosted on a secure server and we do not process your payments through our store. The information you provide such as name and address is stored through our websites data storage and databases. The data is stored on a secure server behind a firewall.

Payment:

We opt for Paypal to take our payments, therefore no credit or debit card information is ever stored on our servers and instead is encrypted and dealt with via Paypal.  After that is complete, Paypal notify our database that payment has been received and the information relating to the products or services purchased is recorded in our database so that you can keep track of your orders by logging in.

No debit or credit card information is stored on our servers.

SECTION 5 – THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy.

When you click on links on our site, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.

SECTION 6 – SECURITY

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

If you provide us with your personal information, it is always stored on a private folder secured by password protection. If you provide this on paper, these forms are kept in a locked filing cabinet and destroyed after 7 years.

SECTION 7 – COOKIES

Our site uses some cookies to help with commenting and messaging.

When you comment on Saltfree posts, you will have cookies stored your computer. This is purely for convenience, so that the you will not be required to re-type all your information again when you want to leave another comment in the future.

Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website.  If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.

If our Saltfree is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that they may continue to communicate with you.
